Dr. Evangelos Tzamos is a Geologist (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) holding a MSc in Mineral Resources and Environment and a PhD in Mineralogy, Geochemistry-Petrology and Ore Geology. During the last years he has been conducting postodoctoral research in the field of Critical Raw Materials and currently his research is focusing on the utilization of mining wastes in the frame of the circular economy as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Chemistry of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has active collaboration as a research visitor in many Greek and European Universities such as National and Technical University of Athens, Università degli Studi di Milano and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. He has been participating in 20 research projects -4 of them as project leader- and has received 3 research fellowships. His research interests include the study of minerals/rocks/ores and their potential uses, geochemical assessment of water and sediments, applied and environmental geochemistry, management of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes and waste utilization in the frame of circular economy. Results of his research have been published in more than 40 full papers and 40 abstracts in peer-review journals and conferences. He has more than 15 years of professional experience as a consulting geologist and he is an active research consultant in mining and waste management companies.
