Dr. Sofia Xesfingi is a Research and Innovation consultant and NCP for Horizon Europe (Cluster 1: Health) at the National Documentation Centre of Greece (EKT), and a Post-Doc researcher at the Economics Department of the University of Piraeus, Greece.
She holds a Ph.D. in Health Economics (2015) and a M.Sc. in Healthcare Management (2010) both from the University of Piraeus and a B.A. in Biology (2007) from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
Her research interests lie in the fields of Health, Migration and Tourism. Her research has been published in Health Expectations, BMC Health Services Research, IZA Journal of Development and Migration, and Energy Policy, and has been financed from a number of prestigious national and European (Hozizon2020; National Strategic Reference Framework) grants. Sofia has taught courses at the Bachelor Programme of the Economics Department of the University of Piraeus (Economics of Health and Insurance, Entrepreneurship, Economics of Tourism) under National Strategic Reference Funds grant and she is currently teaching Health Economics at postgraduate level of the Hellenic Open University.
